Floaters is the name given to small specks that appear to float across the field of vision. Through most people expecience them as they age, a persistence or increase in Floaters may herald a problem - vitreous detachment that may lead to serious damage of the retina.
Bleeding in vitreous, due to retinal bleeds in diabetes an dother illness can also lead to a sudden loss of vision.
Causes of Floaters
Floaters are due to opacities in the vitreous humour, the jelly like fluid in the eyeball.
