Common symptoms of Food Poisoning are sudden illness with vomiting, diarrhea and collapse, affecting more than one person, and usually traceable to a common food consumed bya ll those afficted. The Food Poisoning is due to toxins released by contaminating bacteria.
Bacterial Food Poisoning can result in dehydration and death due to ciculatory collapse.
In most cases, the contaminated food has been cooked and then allowed to cool to room temerature. This gives time for the bacteria to form enterotoxins. Cooked rice and milk products should be refrigerated.
Most cases of Food Poisoning are alarming because of their sudden onset and the rapid deterioration. They are better treated in hospital.
