Insomnia Information
Insomnia is a sleep disorder in which a person is not able to fall asleep. Insomnia is not considered a disease likewise other sleeping disorders. But it is most common disorder in sleeping disorder and it does affect 25% of the population occasionally and 10% as a chronic problem.
In case of chronic Insomnia it means that brain is not getting enough rest and which can lead to greater problems.
Causes of Insomnia
Many things that can cause or contribute in developing Insomnia are as -
- Alcoholism
- Depression
- Illness
- Caffeine
- Heavy smoking
- Daytime napping
- Physical discomfort
- Stress
- Poor sleeping environment
- Certain medical conditions
- And few more we are as going to bed early or excessive time spent awake on bed
- Anxiety
- abuse
Treatment of Insomnia
This may have various patterns:
Inability to fall asleep, or waking up after a very short period of sleep.
May be situational, due to change of schedule, -place or anxiety. Or due to discomfort or pain.
Long-standing insomnia, often accepted by the sufferer ,as a part of life, is known to increase the hazard for major illnesses.
Rather than popping a pill, see your doctor, to make sure there is no underlying physcial problem.
