A term which describes a pattern of altered bowel habits and abdominal pain, with no obvious cause or change in the colon.
The altered bowel habit can be constipation or diarrhea or both.
There is a sense of 'incomplete evacuation', leading to frequent, long, visits to the toilet.
The stool may be narrow and hard.
Diarrhea with mucus may occur, but the stools are never very large.
Abdominal cramps.
Dyspepsia
Flatulence .Victims are otten anxious or stressed.
